EVALUATION OF PSYCHIATRIC DISTURBANCES ASSOCIATED WITH OPEN-HEART SURGERY

This study assessed QOL, cognitive profile, and psychiatric symptoms before after open heart surgery. The prospective was conducted at the Faisalabad Institute of Cardiology from January 2022 to 2023. A total 95 patients were included in study. All underwent neurological physical evaluations. Every measure preoperatively postoperatively. effects treatment-related factors patient-related ones analyzed. 27 (28%) had preoperative anxiety, which decreased 10 (10.5%) 1 week surgery 6 (6.3%) months. 18 (18.9%) depressive symptoms, 7 (7.3%) There a significant improvement mean value anxiety over period (P<.001).
